Attic Dormer Study
Olga, WA The client was in the process of thoughtfully restoring this 1930's cottage located just behind the Olga Store. The attic space was amazing and she was hoping to transform the space into a sleeping area for her visiting grandchildren and an art studio for herself. We started by documenting and modeling the current structure so that an off-island structural engineer could make an initial assessment. We also investigated just adding skylights. Ultimately, the costs to improve the structural elements to make the attic habitable were too high. The client opted for a new roof and windows. |
